More on Opens

It has come to my attention that yet another open has let people down. Particularly when organisers take people's money, they must have the courtesy to let unsuccessful applicants know directly, by email, - or, heaven forfend - letter. A blanket email isn't difficult to do, is it? Failure to do so is lazy, rude and unprofessional. If your resources aren't up to that little task you don't have the resources to do the thing in the first place. Simple.

  1. Thank you. This sort of thing makes me angry. It shows a cynical disregard for contributors and it does a disservice to well-run opens. On a more positive note it also serves to show who is in it primarily for the money.
