I treated myself to some new dog-walking boots today. As you can see, the old ones aren't exactly waterproof any more, but then they have done an awful lot of miles. I also treated myself to a meeting with Jonathan at ARC, to discuss a proposal. With that, and my statement, I have some serious writing to do.
Which reminds me - what I meant about an artist's statement being useful in more ways than one is this: by approaching it honestly, and taking an objective, genuine look at your practice and what it is about - rather than setting out to write a statement which sounds good - you stand to benefit from the cognitive process. That is what I hope to do at any rate.
